What are your first impressions?
It took me a little while to really comprehend what Tuvens is. I spent time on tuvens.com, which is essentially an 'About' landing page which CTAs to join the beta; but, for some reason it really didn't click with me what the app does. I went to beta.tuvens.com and then it all clicked! This is all in beta right now; but I think highlighting the beta homepage will really kick this off since it is easy to digest and comprehend; plus it is familiar, almost like a travel site like Travelocity for instance. Also, I really like this statement: "The digital world is a bridge, not a destination in itself."
What are the first actions you take?
The first actions I take is to read through the homepage to build an understanding of what the site is. As mentioned previously, it didn't really click right away; not until i went to the beta site, and then going back to the homepage it makes more sense and I can follow along with. Maybe part of my confusion was I couldn't quite picture how all of the main features would work together under the same umbrella.
What was your journey navigating the site like? Does the flow make sense?
Apart from the main page, I went to the about page. The about page loads a bit slow for me; but I'm also far away from the servers I'm sure. The about page I feel like it explains certain things more than needed. For instance, how LinkedIn tags I don't care about in this context, but I do care about Tuvens matching me with things that are of interest to me. In other words, the how doesn't really matter to me as long as it does what it says and I do want to know about that type of feature. 😎
- Q4: Who do you believe the target audience is?
- Q5: Do you find the product desirable?
What would you change about the website?
I think the beta page is what truly captures me. The current homepage didn't quite capture me as I had to look elsewhere for the idea of the app to click with me. Though, I completely understand having a separate landing page for the time being as the app is being built out. Is the eventual goal to make the app the main page?
What would you change about the app?
For what I see with app right now, some thought I had are:
- It'd be nice to have tabs for events, carpool, couch hopping etc.. kinda in the same vein as travel websites so I can navigate and search quickly for the subject I am interested in
- It would be awesome if the app knew my current location and showed me some suggestions
- Question - what will the social components be like? What does it look like to have friends in my network?
