Questions
  • Q1: What are your first impressions?
    ARMiedema ARMiedema

Charts factory has a clean landing page and an even cleaner chart making app.

  • Q2: What are the first actions you take?
    ARMiedema ARMiedema
    • First actions I take is to browse through the landing page. The landing page is pretty strong showing some example charts as well as letting you edit some of the example charts.
    • Pretty much right away I start playing with the charts!
  • Q3: Who do you believe the target audience is?
    ARMiedema ARMiedema

Individuals that need to craft a beautiful chart showcasing data

  • Q4: What would you change about the website?
    ARMiedema ARMiedema
    • There are some minor grammar issue; well, I just am referencing 'Homeworks' title as opposed to 'Homework' as homework is both singular and plural
    • The contact form feels unneeded and out of place so close to the newsletter sign up; since the idea seems like a way to receive feedback; i'd recommend using something like upvoty to capture that info
    • The product hunt and create chart on the heroic image could use some padding between them so they don't fight so much with each other
  • Q5: What would you change about the app?
    ARMiedema ARMiedema

The app seems like a perfect first step towards making a true MVP (emphasis on viable) product; just a random wish-list after experiencing it

    • An API would be cool
    • A way to import data if I have a lot of data to show
    • I feel like the chart type should be a level up; like on the same level as changing the page theme - I kept finding myself wanting to quickly cycle through chart types to see how they look
    • Maybe a way to share my chart on social media - if I have a chart I want to use to see if I get a viral tweet going
    • The share link I feel like I want the site navigation and other stuff to be more minimized so that most of the focus is on the chart itself
